Building a social hub with Drupal ( or Building a site on top of another site without actually building a site)

Catalyst.nmc.org was designed as a social hub and aggregator for the HP Catalyst project, spearheaded by HP's Office of Global Social Innovation, the New Media Consortium (NMC) and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). Its focus is on STEM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) with the purpose of creating engagement and discussion with the community.

The site is an exercise in leveraging the content of navigator.nmc.org while maintaining a unique identity. I will discuss how this was accomplished.
